Who We Are

WE’re about saving the world

It started with mushrooms but has become so much more.

Follow me down this rabbit hole-

Farming is the solution to all of the world’s problems.  It is through farming that we can stop hunger, poverty, and dependence on non-renewable resources.  By eliminating these sources of conflict we can reduce war and violence around the world.  There can be more than enough for everyone.  Food independence is the secret to true independence.

Every issue can be either solved or greatly alleviated through farming.  We’re a bunch of geeks here (and around here being a farming geek is the greatest thing!) and our favorite super hero is Superman.  Superman is such a good person that he can’t even kill one of his enemies.  He tries to save everyone.  His mission in life is to save the world – all of it and all of us.  We strive to be as good as he is.

But the other facet of his story is what’s most intriguing.  On his home planet he was a mere mortal man.  But, because of our Sun, he gained enormous powers.  Powers which he uses to protect the world.

Further down the rabbit hole -

Gene Logsdon wrote a book called “All Flesh is Grass.”  It’s a biblical phrase that he used to explain that all animals have eaten grass whether as a primary source or through the consumption of herbivores.  In essence all of us are made up of grass.  I believe this.  It’s fact.  But Mr. Logsdon didn’t go far enough back.  You see if all flesh is grass then all flesh is really sunlight.

It is through the process of photosynthesis that plants grow and produce the food they need.  So if you and I eat plants and animals that have eaten plants then we are harnessing the light of the sun as well.

So you see we all get our nourishment and our “powers” from the sun.  It is the sun that ultimately fuels us.  Each and everyone of us is Superman.  So this begs the question that if we are each Superman can’t we embody the principles of him as well?  Isn’t it our duty to protect this world?  The answers to both of these questions is YES – whether we choose to except the responsibility or not.

So please take a look around the website.  The products you see here are designed to be the least intrusive and most sustainable products out there.  Our Blog – Growing Superman – is about how to build soil, clean water, and grow nutrient dense food.  Everything on this site is devoted to creating and developing the kind of farming we need for the future.  We truly are about saving the world and we hope the articles, the links, and the videos you find here inspire you to do the same.

Mushrooms intrigue me because of their ability to help clean the planet and create beautiful top soil.”
